Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Naija Punters collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here.

• Account info: email address, username, full name, and WhatsApp/phone number.
• Google sign-in: if you use "Continue with Google", we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
• Content you post: posts, comments, images (including bet-slip screenshots), votes, follows and Super 10 selections.
• Prize verification & payout info: if you win a Super 10 Jackpot or Monthly Super Leaderboard prize, we may collect additional details needed to verify you and pay your prize (such as a Nigerian bank account name and number).
• Usage data: basic technical data (like device and browser info) needed to keep the Platform secure and working correctly.

• To create and secure your account, and to sign you in;
• To show your posts/comments and build your personalised Following feed;
• To calculate leaderboard points and Jackpot standing for Super 10;
• To verify winners and pay out Super 10 Jackpot and Monthly Super Leaderboard prizes;
• To send account-related email (welcome, email verification, security notices);
• To review reports and moderate content that breaks our Terms;
• To improve the Platform's features and reliability.

Your username, avatar, role badge, posts, comments and Super 10/leaderboard stats are visible to other members and, depending on the page, to visitors who aren't signed in.

Your email address and phone/WhatsApp number are private — they are never shown to other members, and are only visible to Naija Punters admins for account support, verification and moderation purposes.

We don't sell your personal data. We share limited data with the following processors, only as needed to run the Platform:

• Google — if you choose "Continue with Google", to authenticate your sign-in.
• Resend — our email delivery provider, used to send verification and account emails from hello@naijapunters.com.
• The Odds API — used to fetch match odds shown in Picks; no personal data is sent to this provider.
• Our hosting and database infrastructure, which stores your account and content data.

We use a secure, httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in — it can't be read by JavaScript or third-party scripts. When you sign in with Google, we briefly set a short-lived cookie to protect that flow against cross-site request forgery; it's deleted right after.

• View and update your phone number and password anytime in Settings → Account Security;
• Resend or complete email verification from the banner or Settings;
• Request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account, by emailing us (below).

Passwords are stored using one-way bcrypt hashing — we never store your plain-text password. All traffic to Naija Punters is encrypted over HTTPS.

Naija Punters is intended for users aged 18 and over, given its sports-betting-related content, and is not directed at children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the revised version here with a new "Last updated" date.
